Week- 8 - Solid meshing
Aim:
The solid meshing is to performed for the given rear view component, geometrical errors and meshing the surface with the 2D element quality criteria.
Procedure:
1)Solid meshing is to be done on the part which has no thickness (i.e, hollow parts) or if the component has a thickness value greater than 5mm.
2)Assigning a minimum length of 1mm for proprt cons resolution, geometrical checks is to be performed.
3)Input the mesh parameters and quality criteria values to perform rhe surface meshing.
4) Using the classical mesh module, perform the meshing. During meshing a proper care of ortho tria and trias has to be carefully selelcted. Basically, curved faces are assigned with ortho tria and flat one's with tria mesh elements.
5)Once the surface meshing is done, check the quality criteria issues, if any resolve (Minimum and Maximum length criteria's). The below is an image of the surface meshed component.

6)Enter into the volume mesh module, to create volume out of the surface mesh using tetra mesh. TO do so, first defining the component as a volume and later tetra mesh is performed.

7)Finally the solid mesh has to undergo a quality check (teta collapse).
Learning Outcomes:
1) Understood how to use the volume module and create a solid meshing on the component.
2) Learnt how ortho tria and tria has to executed during meshing.
Conclusion:
The solid meshing has been successfully created for the rear view component.
