Assignment 3-2D Element Formulation Challenge
1.Using the crash beam file from the previous assignment changed the run time to 55 ms.
2. Changed the number of animation steps during simulation to a minimum of 25 and maximum of 60.
Ans :- animation steps as 50
ANM/DT = 55/50 = 1.1
3. Run the base simulation without any modification to element properties.
4. At the end of the simulation, do the energy error and mass error checks and determine whether results would be acceptable
Ans :- Energy Error = ERR=-11.2% Mass Error = DM/M= 1.6590E-04
its acceptable
5. If acceptable, Plot rigid wall forces, internal energy, hourglass energy, contact energy, total energy of the simulations
Ans :-
Ploted the graph hourglass energy, contact energy, total energy without any modification to element properties
Hourglass enenrgy = 9.00e+06 TE Total Energy = 6.122E+07 Internal Energy Maximum =2.300E+07

Ans :- Runed the simulation without changing the element propery then the results are.
Hourglass enenrgy = 9.00e+06
TE Total Energy = 6.122E+07
Internal Energy Maximum =2.300E+07
here Total energy was decreaseing
Runed the simulation with changing the element propery then the results are.
Hourglass Energy = 0.1E+07
Total Energy = 6.100E+07
Internal Eneerrgy = 1.800E+07
Here total energy is same troughout.
Here we can find that after giving the element propertys we got a fine result better than normal.
After adding the element properties we got less inernal enenrgy ann total enery graph is alomost straight.
9. Comment whether there is any change in the results and why there is any change in the result.
Ans :- Internal energy and tootal energy graph being changed after adding the element properites and we got hourglass energy is less compared to 1st simulation. because we were using QEPH Shell formulation hence we got less hourglass and got good result.
