Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II
Design of Bracket II Using NX CAD
Title:
Advance Sheet metal Bracket II Design
Aim/Objective:
- To design a sheet metal model of Bracket II using NX CAD
- Provide some Contour flange, normal cutout, bending, Holes, Dimple, Advance flange etc…
- Convert into the Flat pattern & Drawing
Introduction: Sheet metal is made by a metal forming process like bending, rolling, deep drawing etc. By which a thick metal is converted into thin metal sheet. Here we are designing some sheet metal parts using NX sheet metal workbench. NX sheet metal tool used to create this design of contour flange, Sketch, unbend, Rebend, Bead, hole, Break corner, Gusset etc…
Methodology/Approach: Following are the process flow for designing Bracket II below:-

Description/Procedure
1) Contour Flange: It is used to create base feature or secondary feature of a sheet metal part by a sketch along the particular vector.

2). Normal Cutout: This feature is used to cut the portion of the part by projecting sketch on the particular face and then we can choose to keep intersecting portion or remove

3). Break Corner: This feature is used to create a blend/fillet of the sharp edges of part

4). Unbend: This feature is used when we have to create some complex sketch on flat surface which are not possible to create in the original position.

5). Sketch: This feature is used to create basic sketch of the design on selecting desire plane then later it can be modified as per requirement

6) Normal Cutout: This feature is used to cut the portion of the part by projecting sketch on the particular face and then we can choose to keep intersecting portion or remove

7) Advance Flange:

8). Unbend: This feature is used when we have to create some complex sketch on flat surface which are not possible to create in the original position.

9). Holes: Holes are creating for the purpose of either mounting the bolt or to reduce stress concentration

10). Rebend: This feature is used whenever the entire sketch drawn on the flat section is conformed & ready to be manufactured.

11). Gusset: This feature is providing the strength of the sheet metal without using any welding process

12). Flat Pattern: This feature is providing the flat view of part including the entire dimension.

13). Drafting: It is a kind of drawing which include all views.
