Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II

1. Title of the project : Metal bracket 2

2. Objective : To create metal bracket from the given 2 D drawing.

3. Introduction : Firstly set the sheet metal preferences and the procedure to design is carried out thereafter.

4. Objective :

1. Sketch the required 2D drawing on YZ plane as required as shown in the front view.

2. Draw another sketch in XZ plane such that required section view is obtained.

3. Select contour flange command and select the sketch profile of XZ plane and give the required width.

4. Select normal cutout command and cut out the material from the sketch created in the YZ plane.

5. Select the breakout command to add fillet to the edges.

6. Unbend the sheet metal

7. Using normal cutout make a cutout of dia 12.5 on the bend radius as required.

8. Rebend back the sheet metal.

9. Break corners on the edges of sheet metal with required edges.

10. Select Advanced flange command to make a flange on the top edge of sheet metal.

11. Unbend the sheet metal and make 2 holes on the sheet metal of required dimensions and at the required coordinates.

12. Using normal cutout make a cutout on the sheet metal of required dimensions.

13. Also remove the excess material from the top flange obtained using normal cutout.

14. Select advanced flange command to make a flange on the normal cutout created in step 12.

15. Rebend back the sheet metal.

16. Select gusset command to make a stiffening gusset at the bends as specified in the drawing at the required locations.

Conclusion : The metal bracket is created as per the specifications on the 2D drawings.
