Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_5_Odd Shaped Enclosure
Title of the Project: Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_5_Odd Shaped Enclosure
Objective: The objective is to design a sheet metal object of an odd shaped enclosure using Sheet metal application in Siemens NX and a drafting is to be made for the same.
Introduction: NX Sheet Metal has specific features such as flanges, tabs, jogs, corner conditions, and drawn cutouts & many more along with productivity enhancements such as – automatic bend reliefs. The software also provides common modeling features typically used in sheet metal design, such as holes and slots, as well as other essential capabilities such as copy, paste, and mirror. The application provides defaults for sheet-metal-specific properties such as material – thickness, bend radius, and bend relief. You can easily change these defaults.
Design methodology / approach:

Description:
- Sketch: Used to make 2D designs and the basic structure of any 3D model.
- Tab: Used to make a base sheet metal shape on which further features are added.
- Flanges: Used as extended part of sheet metal.
- Bend: Used to create a bend of any angle along lines created on the base.
- Jog: Used to create a series of alternate bends along any curve or line on the face that needs to be bend.
- Hole: Creates a hole of the specified dimensions on the points given on the face.
- Bead: Used to add strength to the sheet metal.

Conclusion : The given sheet metal part was successfully made in NX sheet metal using the respective features.
