Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_1_Casing Design

MODELING OF CASING ON USING OF NX CAD

Objective :

To create casing by using of nx cad.

Introduction :

Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in metal working, and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from sheet metal. Thicknesses can vary significantly; extremely thin sheets are considered foil or leaf, and pieces thicker than 6 mm (0.25 in) are considered plate steal or "structural steel".

Design methodolog :

Tab

workflow :

Draw 2d sketch (Rectangle L-60mm W-50mm)

Select Tab optition and select 2d sketch

Give thickness 1mm and click ok

Normal cutout

workflow :

Draw 2d sketch (Rectangle L-40mm W-5mm)

Select normal cutout optition and select 2d sketch

Give thickness and direction (Thickness greater than sheat thickness)

Bend

workflow :

Draw 2d sketch (stright line )

select bend optition and select 2d line

Give angle (90 degree) and direction to bend

Dimple

workflow :

Draw 2d sketch stright line (spacing 5 mm)

Draw studio plane connect all points (16 point of stright line)

Move curve and give angle 45 degree

select Dimple optition and give depth (1mm)

Bead

workflow :

Draw 2d circle (Dia 5mm) and give dimension

Select bead optition and select 2d sketch

Give depth and Radius (1mm) and click ok

Flat pattern

workflow :

Select Flat pattern optition

Select stationary face and click ok
