SHEETMETAL CASING DESIGN USING NX CAD
OBJECTIVE:-
To design a casting using NX sheetmetal application. and to familiar about the useage of tools while designing a casting.
INTODUCTION:-
In this project we are designing a sheetmetal casing with NX CAD on sheetmetal workbench.
NX is a advance CAD, CAM, CAE software. It is a PLM (Product lifecycle Management )
software having next generation designing tools and technology.
DESIGN METHODOLOGY:-
DESCRIPTION:
SKETCH:-
The Sketch is a 2D-dimensional representation of the model with the respect to plane/view.
TAB:-
It is a base feature by extruding a sketch along a vector by a thickness value.
NORMAL CUTOUT:-
This is a feature to cut out a section of a part with reference to a sketch.
BENDING:-
This feature is used to bend the sheet by user defined line.
FLANGES:-
This is a feature is used to create a flange from the stationary part by selecting a user defined edge.
BREAK CORNER:-
This is a feature is used to smoothen the corner by selecting a Round or chamfer in option.
UNBEND:-
This is a feature use to flatten the bend & flanges in a sheetmetal part.
HOLE:-
This feature is use to create a hole to any part with preffered type and specification of holes.
DIMPLE:-
This feature is use to drop or lift the material through the sketch marking as a stamping feature.
BEAD:-
This feature is also used to drop or lift the material along a counter of sketch that simulates staming a tool.
MIRROR FEATURE:-
This feature is used to make a symetry by selecting a feature in respect of user defined plane or sketch.
REBEND:-
This feature is used to restore a flatten sheetmetal part.
DRAFTING:-
Is is the creation of drawing for the purpose of determining what are the dimensions of a part.
VIEWS:
ISOMETRIC VIEW:
FRONT VIEW:
RHS VIEW:
REAR VIEW:
LHS VIEW:
TOP VIEW:
BOTTOM VIEW:
RENDERING:-
It is a process of creating a 3D model into a realistic image. The renderd image incorporates the appearance, lighting, scene and decals included with the model.
DRAFTING:-
Is is the creation of drawing for the purpose of determining what are the dimensions of a part.
CONCULISION:
Learned various tools for SHEETMETAL design.

Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1
AIM:- RIB DESIGN INPUT- COIN HOLDER MODEL Introduction: Rib: Ribs are thin, wall-like features typically designed into the geometry of a part to add internal support to walls or other features like bosses. In a similar fashion, gussets are support features that reinforce areas such as walls or bosses to the floor. Ribs…
