3D Creation of Ceiling, Roof, Architectural plan, Structural plan, Sectional view, Elevation view and Camera specific view for a house plan using REVIT
Q NO.1:-
AIM:-
To model a Ceiling from the architecture tab above the walls at the first-floor level.
Introduction:-
- The creation of Ceilings within Revit is a very similar process that of floors and Roofs i.e. you can let Revit do most ofthe work and "guess" where you want the boundariew to be, or you can enter "Sketch Mode" and literally sketch out the boundary of the ceiling yourself.
- The main thing to remember isto be in the Correct Ceilinng Plan View before you start Revit "will" let you place Ceiling in Floor Plan Views, but I would not advice this as you cannot readily see what you have created.
Procedure:-
- First of all open Revit.
- Go to "Open" as shown in below image.

- From the "Open" tab choose the week 3 project.

Result:-

- Go to Architecture -> Build -> Ceiling.
- Go to Modify/Place Ceiling -> Ceiling -> Sketch Ceiling.

- Go to Modify/Create Ceiling Boundary -> Draw -> Pick Line.
- From the "Property Browser" change the "Level" to Level-2, and set the "Height Offset From Level" to 9'7" as shown in image below.

- Now carefully choose the interior part of the 1st floor Exterior Walls.
- Go to Modify/Create Ceiling Boundary -> Mode -> Finish Edit Mode, and click on "Tick Mark".

Result:-
The ceiling has been modeled successfully from the architecture tab above the walls at the first floor level.

Q No.2:-
AIM:-
To model a roof above the ceiling by selecting the footprints of the ceiling.
Introduction:-
- Roof, covering of the top of a building, serving to protect against rain, snow, sunlight wind, and extremes of temperature.
- Roofs have been constructed in a wide variety of forms flat, pitched, vaulted, domed, or in combinations as dictated by technical, economic, or aesthetic considerations. The earliest roofs constructed by man were probably thatched roofs that were made of straw, leaves, branches, or reeds; they were usually set at a slope, or pitch, so that rainfall could drain off them.
- Conical thatched roofs are a good example of this type and are still widely used in the rural areas of Africa and elsewhere.
- Thicker branches and timbers eventually came to be used to span a roof, with clay or some other relatively impermeable substance pressed into the interstices between them.
- Gabled and flat roofs were possible with these matrials. With the invention of brick and cut stone for building, the basic roof forms of the dome and vault appeared.
Procedure:-
- Go to Architecture -> Build -> Roof -> Roof by Footprint.
- A "Lowest Level Notice" box will appear in which we have to select the level for Roof. Change the level to Level 3.

- Go to Modify/Create Roof Footprint -> Draw -> Pick Walls.
- Carefully choose the outer edges of the exterior walls, as shown in image below.

- Result will be as follows.

- For changing the slope to 10 degrees, go to "Properties Browser".
- Type "UN(Unit)" command on the keyboard.
- On the "Project units" dialogue box click on the slope.
- On the "Format" dialogue box change the parameter to degree.

- Now from the "Properties" browser change the slope to 10 degrees in "Dimension" section.

Result:-
The roof has been created successfully to the model in the revit in detailed manner.

Introduction:-
- The structural plan view is the default view when you start a new project using a structural template.
- Most projects include at least one structural plan. New structural plan views are craeated automaticlly as you add new levels to your poject. You can create multiple structural plan view types.
- The floor plan view is the default view in a new architetural project.
- Most projects include at least one floor plan.
- Floor plan views are created automatically as you add new levels to your project.
Procedure:-
For Architectural Plan.
- Go to the "Project Browser" and expand the "Views" section.
- Go to the "Floor Plan" under the "Views" section and select the "Ground Floor Level" as shown in below image.

Result:-

- Similarly, go to the "Floor Plan" under the "Views" section and select the "1st Floor Level" as shown in below image.

For Structural Plan:-
- Go to View -> Create -> Plan Views -> Structural Plan.
- From "New Structural Plan" dialogue box choose "Ground Floor Level" as shown in image below.

Result:-

- Repeat the above process and from "New Structural Plan" choose "1st Floor Level".

Result:-

Final Result:-
- Created plan views for ground floor level and first-level including all the walls, floors, and components.
- Seperated them to architecture and structural plans.

Q No.5:-
Aim:-
To create a sheet template from the view tab and adjust the parameters on the sheet to add appropriate views.
Introduction:-
- Create views on a project template before you start building the model to streamline the project documentation process.
- When creating a project template, you can include sheets in the template. Start with a blank project file, and create the standard views and levels that each project should include.
- Leave the views empty, but assign standard names to them. To create a standard set of construction documents, create sheets using the desired title blocks.
- Add vies to the sheets, using the desired viewport templates and view title types.
- Then save the empty project as a project template.
- When you create a project using this project template, all of the views and sheets are already created and listed in the Project Browser.
- As you start to draw the building model in the project views, the views onthe sheets update automatically.
- This technique streamlines the project documentation process and maintains organizatinal standards.
Procedure:-
- Go to View -> Sheet Composition -> Sheet.
- A "New Sheet" tab will appear, click on "Load" button.
- Follow the given path.
- (C:) -> ProgramData -> Autodesk -> RVT 2024 -> Libraries -> English-Imperial -> US -> Titleblocks.
- Choose the "D 22 X 34 Horizontal".
- Now from the "New Sheet" tab select the selected sheet in previous tab.

Result:-

- Click on the sheet, revit will take you to edit sheet page.
- Delete the "Autodesk" Logo from the sheet.
- Go to Insert -> Import -> Import Image.
- Choose a suitable image. I have selected "Skill-Lync" logo and also changed the autodesk site address to skill-lync site address.
- Crop the image appropriately so that it fits the space.
- Again go to View -> Family Editor -> Load into Project.
- Overwrite the existing version and its parameter values.

- Now, go to View -> Sheet Composition -> View, as shown in below image.

- From the "Select View" tab select the "Floor Plan: Ground Floor Level" and press "OK".
- In the "Properties Browser" change the "View Scale" to 3/8" = 1'-0".
- Change few parameters of the Sheet such as owner's name, sheet no, Project name, issue date as shown below.

Result:-

- Repeat the above process for creating a new sheet for 1st floor level.

Final Result:-
Created a sheet template from the view tab and adjusted the parameters on the sheet for addng the appropriate views.

Q No.6:-
Aim:-
To create the elevation views, looking at your building from East, North, South, and West using the elevation tab.
Introduction:-
- An elevationn is a view of a building seen from one side, a flat representation of one view.
- This is the most common view used to describe the external appearance of a building.
- Each elevation is labelled in relation to the compass direction it faces, e.g. looking toward the north you would be seeing the southern elevation of the building.
Procedure:-
- Go to the "Project Browser" and choose the "Elevation" section under the "View" tab as shown in below image.

Final Result:-
Followings are the East, North, South and West views of the residential building.

Q No.7:-
Aim:-
The produce section cut through each room either cutting across longitudinally or in a transverse direction.
Introduction:-
- Sectional views reveal hidden details in a mechanical drawing.
- These views assume that a cutting plane has removed portions of the object represented by the drawing, displaying the appropriate section of the interior.
- Sectional views are used in engineering and architectural drawings.
- They help civil engineers, architects, and airplane designers communicate their ideas to their peers.
Procedure:-
- Open the "Ground Floor" level from the project browser.
- Go to View -> Create -> Section.

- Draw the section line carefully through the Master Bedroom as shown in the below image.

- From the "Project Browser" rename the name to "Master Bedroom Section View" as shown below.
