The Rebuild Mesh panel helps streamline the process of remeshing existing meshes to generate a new mesh with good quality and flow. The rebuild mesh functionality utilizes the same parameter and criteria files used by BatchMesher to define the quality criteria and relevant mesh parameters. This algorithm saves significant time over the traditional automesh and quality correction approach.
Now let's follow the step to carry out the operation:
Step1:
Go to 2D > Rebuild mesh
You can observe the panel shown below.
Step 2:
Identify the areas when the mesh flow is bad and make a selection of mesh in the region.
Step 3:
On selecting the edit criteria tab in the centre of the panel, you can see a dialog box popping up. Enter the appropriate quality criteria values on the dialog box. Then click OK.
Step 4:
Now select the Rebuild option on the right side of the panel.
We can observe that the mesh flow has been corrected, as shown below.
Note: The selection pattern of the mesh elements before rebuilding the mesh plays an important role in obtaining an ideal mesh flow. You can try to select the elements in different orientations and accept the pattern that feels convenient.
Disclaimer:
Using the rebuild option will ease up the meshing process but at the end of the day, it makes the user lazy while meshing, whereas on the other hand, with the manual approach, the mesh gets rustic.
