1. How do you perform meshing? 

1. Meshing is the process of breaking down a complex geometry into smaller elements for analysis. Typically, I start by choosing the appropriate mesh type (1D, 2D, or 3D), ensure that the geometry is clean, and then apply finer mesh in regions with high-stress gradients to capture accurate results. 

2. What is the input model extension you used? 

1. Common input file extensions include .igs, .step, or .stl for CAD models, while .cdb or .inp are used for simulation data depending on the software. 

3. What is Young's modulus and its unit? 

1. Young's modulus is a measure of the stiffness of a material. It’s the ratio of stress to strain within the elastic region of the material's stress-strain curve. The unit of Young’s modulus is Pascal (Pa). 

4. How much is 1 N/m² to Pa? 

1. 1 N/m² is equal to 1 Pascal (Pa). They are equivalent units of pressure. 

5. What is grid independency? 

1. Grid independency refers to the point during mesh refinement when further refinement does not significantly change the simulation results. Achieving grid independence ensures that the results are accurate and not affected by mesh quality. 

6. What is RBE? 

1. RBE stands for Rigid Body Element. It is used in simulations to connect multiple nodes rigidly so that the connected nodes move as a single rigid body, commonly used in CAE for simplifying connections between components. 

7. What is stress concentration? 

1. Stress concentration occurs when stress is significantly higher in certain areas of a material, often around discontinuities like holes, sharp corners, or notches. These areas are prone to failure if not properly designed. 

8. What is a moment of inertia and its unit? 

1. Moment of inertia is a property of a shape that measures its resistance to rotational motion around an axis. The unit of moment of inertia is kg·m². 

9. What is modal analysis? 

1. Modal analysis is a technique used to determine the natural frequencies and mode shapes of a structure. It helps in understanding how a structure will respond to vibrations and dynamic loads. 

10. What is nonlinear analysis? 

1. Nonlinear analysis accounts for material nonlinearity, geometric nonlinearity, or boundary condition nonlinearity. It’s used when deformations are large or when materials don’t obey Hooke’s law (elastic deformation). 

11. What happens if we increase the E value? 

1. Increasing the Young’s modulus (E value) means the material becomes stiffer, so for the same applied stress, the strain (or deformation) will be less. 

12. What is implicit analysis and explicit analysis? 

1. Implicit analysis solves equilibrium equations at each time step and is commonly used for static or quasi-static problems. 

2. Explicit analysis, on the other hand, calculates the response of a system over time using small time steps, often used for dynamic simulations like crash tests or high-speed impacts.
