Wiring harness routing & packaging Rules Week 3 Challenge
P-CLAMP IN WIRING HARNESS
This is another important component of wiring harness which should be defined before wiring harness routing . The following parameters are required,
1. Entry point and plane
2. Exit point and plane
3. Base plane
It should be defined as a SUPPORT in Electrical part workbench.

Backshells are plastic molded parts used at wire entry side of connectors either for protection or to improve aesthetics/ appearance of harness. The following procedure is followed,
1. Get 3D Backshell data
2. Define geometric parameters
3. Define the part as Backshell
4. Define the backshell connection point
5. Define the bundle entry point
CORRUGATED TUBES
These are made from plastic material and are flexible. It is used to protect from thermal, physical damage to improve harness appearance.
Protective coverings are flexible, temperature, wear and tear resistant of molded plastic & polymer parts. Silicone coverings are used for high temperature applications.
Grommets are also used as protective coverings in wiring harness application. It is used to prevent the duts and water particles to enter the vehicle, to absorb vibrations, shock and avoids contact with sharp edges.
In Electrical part design workbench, Click on to the protective covering option and select the part body.
A dialog box appears, give the require data as per our requirement
