Challenge

Wiring harness routing & packaging Rules Week 3 Challenge

Objectives:

  • Define the mechanical components electrically and prepare the catalogue for the same
  • Prepare the COT tubes and make the catalogue for the same

Answer:

Q1) P clamp:

Parameters creation:

  • Create all the parameters from part workbench
  • Create Points from points option
  • Then create a planes for entry, exit, base location using plane option

Define P clamp:

  • After creating the parameters next step is to define p clamp from electrical part workbench
  • Define support part option to define the P clamp
  • Here we have to select entry and exit points and plane to define the P clamp using define support part option

Q2) Back shell Tyco 1738312-1:

  • Create Back shell connection point using Point command from part work bench
  • Then create axis system for back shell using axis system option

  • After creating parameters next step is to define the back shell electrically
  • Using Define back shell option to define the back shell, where the Representation is the back shell point, contact is the mating face, coincidence is Y axis and Orientation is either X or Z axis.
  • Then click ok to define backshell connection point
  • Then the catalog of the backshell has been created

Q3) Corrugated Tubes Creation:

  • For creating cot tubes from the electrical part work bench
  • Click define protection part option and select the part body, then the popup window will open
  • Where select the name of tube, type of part, Put the value of Inner diameters, thickness And put the bend radius as min 1.5 times of Outer radius
  • Then click ok to create cot Tubes.
  • Follow this steps for all types of cot tubes

Creation of catalog for COT tubes:

  • File-new-catalogdocument To create new catalog document
  • Here add family option to generate family group as SLIT COT
  • Then save the catalog
  • Then from the electrical part workbench add store option to Store all the types of COT into a selected catalog.

Conclusion:

Defined the mechanical components of P Clamp, Tyco 1738312-1 Back shell electrically and prepared the catalogue for the same has been completed and attached, Then Prepared the COT tubes and make the catalogue for the same has been created and attached.
