Wiring harness routing & packaging Rules Week 3 Challenge

Q1. Download following cad data & define it as Electrical support using Electrical Part design Workbench. Define all the necessary properties.

P-Clamp:

  1. The given clip was downloaded and opened as a part file.
  2. I have to define two points that will be used as entry and exit points.
  3. Then a plane has to be defined at the points.
  4. A base plane has to be defined at a distance of 2 to 3 mm from the clip.
  5. again we define the exit point at the first definition as the entry point.
  6. hence I have two entry and two exit points.

At HellermannTyton we thrive on taking established design conventions for fixing parts and improving on them. So when we received a request for a more versatile way to mount and clamp cables and hoses on construction machinery we rose to the challenge.

We applied our extensive cable tie design know-how to solve all the mechanical limitations of the conventional p-clamp that our customers told us about.

It’s the most user-friendly, versatile, and rugged p-clamp for fastening and fixing cables, wires, pipes and hoses on the market. Like a clip, you can also re-open and re-use it hundreds of times.

Q2. Download following Back shell cad data & define it as Electrical back shell using Electrical Part design Workbench. Define all the necessary properties.

  • The backshell data was downloaded from the website.
  • We define the points in the part workbench.
  • An Axis system with the correct axis orientation is placed at the backshell connection point.
  • The points have to be defined as the backshell connection and bundle connection points.
