Wiring harness routing & packaging Rules Week 3 Challenge

AIM:

  • Download following cad data & define it as Electrical support using Electrical Part design Workbench. Define all the necessary properties.
  • . Download following Back shell cad data & define it as Electrical back shell using Electrical Part design Workbench. Define all the necessary properties.
  • Create Following Corrugated tubes & Add them in Catalogue under “Slit COT” family.

P-CLAMP DEFINITION:

  • Usually clamp is used as a supporting feature for wiring harness bundle to attcah with body of vehicle.
  • To define the clamp as a electrical part.It should contains certain geometrical parameters such as Bundle entry point, bundle exit point, entry plane, exit plane, and base plane and its vice versa with no change in base plane.
  • After setting the required geometrical parameters, define the given clamp part as a support in electrical part design workbench.

BACK SHELL DEFINITION:

  • Generally, Back shells are used to shield the wire connection points of the inter- connecting cable and connector using housing shell which is a molded plastic or rubber component repect to its application.
  • The primary function of back shell is to provide strain relief, which minimises the stress from cable,on the junction where the wire terminate to the contacts.
  • To define the back shell as electrical part. It should contain certain geometrical parameters such as Back shell connection point with inserted axis system and bundle entry point.
  • After setting the required geometrical parameters, define the back shell as electrical part in electical part design workbench.

BACK SHELL CONNECTION POINT:

BUNDLE ENTRY POINT:

CORRUGATED TUBES:

  • It is a non heat shrink tubing that is highly flame- retardant and hasa high crush resistance and abrasion resistance.
  • It protect multiple bundled electric cables. East to bend and string to shock and comression.
  • Open the new part in electrical part design workbench, Directly define the part as a protection part using protection part tool feature.
