Wiring harness routing & packaging Rules Week 3 Challenge
Q1. P CLAMP-
- The P-Clamp is an electrical support device that helps the wire bundle maintain its fixation on the car or any other parts or components.
- Due to its bi-directional nature, the wire bundle can enter and escape from any direction.
- Determining the Entry and Exit points from both sides is therefore necessary.
- Follow the procedures below to define the P-Clamp as electrical support equipment:
STEP 1: CREATING AN ENTRY AND EXIT POINT-

STEP2- CREATING OF ENTRY AND EXIT PLANE ALONG WITH BASE PLANE-

STEP3- DEFINING SUPPORT PART-

Q2. BACKSHELL:
- A backshell is an add-on that mounts to a connector's back threads to improve the operational features. A backshell's main purpose is to reduce stress on the cable at the point where the wires terminate at the contacts by acting as strain relief.
- Backshells are available in a range of finishes, materials, and angles. Backshells and connections need to be the same material and finish for aesthetic and material compatibility reasons. Additionally, most backshells can be ordered in 45-degree and 90-degree angles to facilitate easy cable management.
- The processes listed below must be followed in order to establish the backshell's electrical characteristics:
Step1- Creating Bundle side and Connector Mating Side Point

STEP2 - Creating an Axis system at the Connector mating side:

Step 3 - Defining the component as the Backshell-

Step 4- Defining the Backshell connection point:

Step 5- Defining the Bundle connection point:

Q3. CORRUGATED TUBES :
- The wire bundle is covered with corrugated tubes to protect it from any form of harm
Step 1- Creating a Catalog family for corrugated tube naming as Slit COT:

Step 2-Creating the following corrugated tubes as per the dimensions given in the table:
1. COT TUBES 15mm

2. COT TUBES 20mm

3. COT TUBES 35mm

4. Cot Tubes 10mm

5. Cot Tubes 5mm

Step 3- ADDED CORUGGATED TUBES
