Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 2 Challenge

AIM:

            Download following connectors & Connector clip cad data from given link & define it as Electrical Connector using Electrical Part design Workbench. Define all the necessary properties to Connectors & Clip.

CONNECTOR DEFINITION:

1. Deutsch DT06 – 08SA

Bundle connection point:

                        To open the part design and create the midpoint on bundle connection wire.

Connector connection point:

                To create the midpoint on connector connection face and Axis system to refer the connector connection point create and change axis direction connector connection face to same direction on Y-axis mounting direction, change direction on X-axis on locking mechanism and X-axis perpendicular to the Z-axis.

Switch to Electric Part Design:

                  To select the define part as connector tool, to choose on single insert connector and give no. of termination as 8 because we have 8 entry points for wire.

1. Create midpoint.
2. create Connector connection point.
3. create Connector connection axis system.
4. create cavity connection point.
5. create cavity connection axis system.
6. Switch to Electric part design and define part as connector.
7. Define Connector connection point and cavity connection point.

3. Tyco 85229-1:
4. Create midpoint.
5. create cavity connection point.
6. create cavity connection axis system and orientation should be same as in connector.
7. Switch to Electric part design and define part as Mounting Equipment.
8. Define cavity connection point.

Electric Assembly Design

1. Import Connector and cavity / mounting clip.
2. Select Define Electric connection.
3. select cavity and then connector.
