Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features
Door Trim Lower Plastic component through the given Class-A surface

tree structure

CREATION OF SOLID BODY FROM THE GIVEN CLASS A INPUTS
class A INPUT

TOOLING AXIS : It is the axis along which core and cavity moves. Here in the given class A , major component can be visible along Y direction , so we will make tooling direction along Y AXIS

DRAFT ANALYSIS : To check, wheather tooling axis which we have made is clearing our component or not .

hence, with 3 degree draft, our given class A , is clearing along the tooling axis.
class B : Taken offset from class A by 2.5 mm

AFTER OFFSET, some of the surface has not offset well, therefore we need to repair those surfaces
repair class b

class c

join a and c

solid body

draft analysis of solid body :

note : In this , after applying 3 degree positive drafts, sides are not getting clear.
CREATION OF HEAT STAKES AND LOCATOR ON THE CLASS B SIDES OF SOLID BODY
HEAT STAKES: It is a joining techniques of two different components by heat addition to the heat stake protrusion above the counterpart.
heat is created by concenric circle of 5 and 7 diameter respectively as per design rules

In this heat stake, rib is also attached in order to provide strength to the heat sake.

0.5 degree draft need to be provide in order to clear the heat stakes with mold.

locators: It is a feature which is used to arrest the degree of freedom while the component are being assembled.

0.5 degree is provided

AFTER MAKING HEAT STAKES AND LOCATOR, WE NEED to uniontrim with main body , to get one solod body

draft analysis of b sides features with 0.5 degree draft.
