Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Applique Design with Engineering Features

AIM:- TO CREATE 4 WAY LOCATORS, 2 WAY LOCATOR, AND HEAT STAKES ON DOOR APPLIQUE. ALSO, PERFORM DRAFT ANALYSIS ON THE COMPONENT.

OBJECTIVE:-

To create the 4 way and 2-way locators and heat stakes on door applique with the help of class a surface. the 4-way locators and 2-way locator will add up to the door applique and the heat stakes also. as for the door attachment, we will create the holes which will pass through the locators and heat stakes.

PROCEDURE:-

first, we will check the connectivity of the class A surface. for that we have to use the join command to join all the components of class A . after joining we have to thicken it. the thickness will be 2 mm.

After that, we will go for the creation of TOOLING AXIS.

for that, we simply create a point in the center of the door applique by using the point command on the surface option.

after the creation of the tooling axis and thicken part we will perform the draft analysis on the door applique.

Now we will proceed with the creation of a 4-way locator. we will create a sketch first .

and then Pad it.

and then we translate the same 4-way locator to the right side of the door applique.

we will go for the creation of the 2-way locator.

and then pad it .

after this, we will go for the heat stakes design.

Now the creation of holes in the door attachment component.
