Week - 9 Material Modeling from Raw Data
Material Modeling from Raw Data
Objective: To extract data from the raw data given and validate it on the dog bone specimen given.

Procedure:
Step 1:
One of the curves is selected and by using data digitizer the values are extracted.

The line is marked and its data is extracted. About 60 values are extracted through pointing on the line.
The stress values are converted from ksi to gpa system.
From the extracted values a graph is obtained, due to uncertainty in the values the graph is an irregular curve. That curve is fitted using appropriate curve fitting options available in EXCEL.

Now the data is obtained.
Step 2: Validating the extracted values from raw data in the dog bone specimen provided.
The material card is assigned to the model.

The thickness of the material and the element formulation is specified in the section card.

Assigned the necessary boundary conditions.

Define curve card is assigned.

After assigning the ASCII card and Database cards at 0.1 and Extent binary card at STRFLG at 1, The model is run and the d3 plot file is obtained.
Result:

Conclusion: The values extracted from the data extracted from raw data is validated.
