Week 9-Challenge
Aim and Objective: To create connectors and attach the various parts of the given model, the following are the connectors to create
1. Right_Rail_2 & Front_truss_1:- Seam-Quad(angled+capped+L)
2. Left_Rail_2 & Front_truss_1:- Quad elements
3. Front_truss_2, Front_truss_1 & Right_Rail_1:- Spot weld with 3 Layers and 5 mm Diameter
4. Front_truss_2, Front_truss_1 & Left_Rail_1:- Hexa (Adhesive)
5. Rear_truss_2 & Right_Rail_2:- Bolt Connector
6. Rear_truss_2 & Left_Rail_2:- Bolt Connector
7. Right_Rail_1 & Right_Rail_2:- Spot-weld with Rigid Elements
8. Left_Rail_1 & Left_Rail_2:- Spot-weld with Spring Elements
9. Rest all the component left Join them with suitable connectors
Steps to be followed:
- Go to 2D-automesh-select the surfaces, perform the mesh with element size, mesh type, tick the check box flow and map
- Go to 2D-connectors, select the appropriate type of connector like spot, seam, bolt etc., select the type of weld
- Fill the inputs such as type, tolerance, diameter, spacing options wherever it is necessary, select the node list to create the connector
- If the connectors are realized, there will be green color visualization of connectors or else it will be red
- To reverse the direction of connectors, go to view-browsers-hypermesh-connector, there will be an extension window above status bar, select the failed connector, tick the reverse direction check box if necessary, if still the failing exists then select the nodelist properly and also the components
- For rigid elements go to 1D-connectors-select the 1D elements
Conclusion:
With this challenge I have learnt how to create connectors using hypermesh
