Week 9 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design
1. Tooling Axis:
- As here is no hole in this parts, but there are three walls in Class A surface.
- Create a Geometrical set named as Tooling Axis and first extract the base and take a point at the centre of the base surface and insert axis system at the point.
- Now take the Intersection at the centre point on base along yz plane, it will give the profile.
- In yz plane, we will get the profile of two opposite walls, now create the bisecting line between these two walls or surfaces profile passing through the centre point, that will be dummy tooling axis.
- Now take the Intersection along X direction, but we will get only one profile of one wall so create a line or dummy tooling axis starting from origin at an angle of 6 degree considering the draft which is required.
- We have two dummy tooling axis now biscet them using line definiation, so we get the main tooling axis.
2. Draft Analysis:
- After the tooling axis is created, to perform Draft Analysis go to Insert- Analysis- Feature Draft Analysis.
- First aligne the Compass with the Tooling Axis and lock it their.
- After that set the range of Draft as 0 to 3 degree with respective, it will show the results.
- Use Analyses under running point to check draft at a particular point.
- On the above, result shows the draft of more than 3 degrees, highlighted in green color.
- Red shows the range in between 0-3 degrees.
- Bottom surface shows the draft value below 0 degrees as highlighted in blue color
