SWITCH BEZEL DESIGN

DRAFT ANALYSIS

The draft analysis made to make sure that the part can be manufactured. It also ensure draft angle is rom 1 to 3 degree. If teh draft angle is more the part cannot be manufactured.

Draft angles are very important in thermoforming product design. If the product is formed onto a negative mold, it shrinks away from the mold sidewalls. As a result, negative products can be thermoformed with vertical walls having zero draft angles.

With draft angle the part can be ejected easily from the mold.

Tooling axis : Tooling axis shows taht in which way that core and cavity is opened.

Steps to create tooling axis

  • Extracting the base surface
  • And creating point on the surface
  • By using line command point -point type the two line are created
  • Again going to line command and biscuting line type and selecting the point to point lines created before and selecting the vertex.

The method i used to create the tooling axis

Class A surafce

Class A is a aesthic surface which is smooth with thickness less than 1mm.

Class b surface

B surface offseted to the thickness of 2.5mm length the required thickness of teh component is 2.5mm.

C surface

The class C surface hepls to join A and B.The class c surface is created by using sweep command and sub type as draft angle with the help of tooling axis.
