DRAFT ANALYSIS REPORT

Tooling Axis creation

Tooling axis for this part is created by taking extract of  a flat surface and taking a point on the centre of the extract and then a line is drawn along Y axis to create the tooling axis.

Tooling axis can also be created by using bisecting method by creating a point at the center of the part and then creating an axis system.By creating a tooling axis for x axis and y axis and then bisecting both of the tooling axis final tooling axis an be created.

(Tooling axis at each plane can be created by creating an intersection and then drawing two point to point lines from symmetric edges and then bisecting both of the lines by a bisecting line)

Draft analysis

Since the tooling axis is created finally draft analysis can be done

CLASS A DRAFT ANALYSIS

From the draft analysis we can see that some of the edges of Class A are blue( less than 3deg draft angle) So we can either work on the tooling axis or ask the class A designer to provide a 3 degree draft angle otherwise tooling will be expensive.

Final productdraft analysis

Because of complicated A Class surface Class C , ribs and screw boss are having less than 3 degree draft angle which needs to be improved for economic tooling
