Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Bumper

DRAFT ANALYSIS ON

CLASS A SURFACE

FINAL PLASTIC SURFACE

REPORT

Since the bumper had curvature body not a tangential surface with a draft ,tooling axis was created by taking extract of a flat surface drawing a point on the center of the surface and drawing a line from the point along X axis.

Tooling axis can also be created by using bisecting method by taking intersection of the Class A drawing next step for this will be creating point to point lines from  2 symmetric edges .Then final step will be to obtain the tooling axis by bisecting both of the lines by using a bisecting line.

Draft analysis results

Class A

As seen in the photo the Class A is completely green in draft analysis and 3 degree is given to green color in color scale variant, so this tooling axis is correct.

Final plastic surface

Class B and class C surface are not green which tells us that more improvement can be done on both of them, especially on Class C surface to make the product cost effective.
