DOOR TRIM -DOG HOUSE:

Darft analysis:

  • Draft is a provide an angle to plastic component with cavity to reduce the friction .
  • without having the draft it may causes the shape was resized .Output of a component is become unsatisfied.
  • The minimum draft to any plastic component should be 2.5mm hence the class A surface of door trim-dog house is analysed for a draft..
  • Hence in order to have minimum sidecore involvement and minimum cost we must have the tooling axis in line to the axis of the base at the surface centre.
  • Draft analysis can be done through tooling axis . select a compass on the draft analysis set on the tooling axis and lock it.
  • Select the material option customized view parameters click ok.
  • click on the surface it will be visible as green in colour. Class A and Class C surface are in positive angle and Class B to be negative angle.
  • in the class-A surface have a conflict on that it was not come draft analysis of 2.9degree with a solid surface of door trim .
  • For the Dog house is 1.48 degree for the first dog house and second one is at lower it is done with 0.48 degree it was cleared.

Tooling axis:

  • Commonly we are consider holes in the class A surface than class A engineer was consider to construct a tooling axis from centre of the circle
  • But here have a circle and flat suface so we are goun flat surface it was clearing analysis.
  • We have visulaized the diagram in certain directions in y direction image was totally appeared.Extract the flat surface make a point that as middle given as 0.
  • use point direction draw a line in y direction finally it is a final tooling axis.
  • we have do another method bisecting metyhod to check form axis system take xy axis and intersect with class-A surface .Take a points draw a lines parallel and bisect them line was formed in y direction .
  • Again we do draft analysis on bisect method same result like point direction
  • Use this tooling axis do the drafting analysis on the Class-A surface for intial and final conversion of solid surface draft analysis.
  • Tooling axis can be form through Bisected method , Normal surface method, point direction method .

Side core tooling axis:

  • Extract the surface of the Dog house front phase and create a point as 0 inthe middle .
  • take a point direction method draw a perpendicular line to extract surface that is in X direction .
  • finally it is a side core tooling axis.

Construction:

For every surface geometric set are to be added to choose easy to understand .

Body was in the part body.

Class -B surface:

  • first we are offset the given class into down direction.
  • Change the graphic colour to offset .patches was appear.
  • Take a flat surfaces from the Class-A and untrim them and extrapolate the faces and trim with them certain shape was occur and offest to 2.5mm down direction.
  • Extract the outer boundary and offset them than extrapolate the boundary trim with upper surface.
  • Remaing lower outer surface use multi extract the flat surface except fillet areas .extrpolate the both sides.
  • Extract the flat surfaces from the fillet areas and untrim them extrapolate the faces and trim them .
  • That trim was offset to outwared direction and extrpolate trim with the flat faces .
  • finally trim with outer boundary face .Class -B was formed give a fillets them take a fillet values from the Class-A.

Class -C surface:

  • select the outer boundary of the Door Trim of Class-A use reference surface sweep with 87degree for outer surfaces and curve shape for did a multisection surface for them.
  • For the front area did a sweep of draft direction and extrapolate the both sweeps and trim them .Both are in out ward direction.
  • join C + class-A
  • If their is any gaps check with intersection command their any black points are visible are not.If visible to extrapolate that surface to fill.
  • Join A +C

Final trim:

  • Select joint of Class-C and Class -A trim with class -B to remove unwanted material finally of wanted object material was formed .
  • For checking their any gaps in the surface to check use boundary to click on the surface its shows error means thier is no any gap.

After that Define part body with the command of closed surface in the part work bench to make a surface body into solid body.

Dog house:

  • Extract a face on the solid body back side and make a point on them . Form a plame through parallel through point.
  • Take a positioned sketch create a centroid rectangle of 20*20.
  • Give a dimesions and isconstrianed them. Use a pad command and pad them in 3:1 ratio of guide lines. direction as tooling axis direction .
  • Use a draft command select the phases of all sides except top with 1.5degree and neutral as plane and pulling direction is tooling axis. in upward direction go for a preview .
  • Use a shell command remove front face and bottom face with thickness of 2.5mm
  • Give a fillet for as minimum fillet + thickness of the outerside dog house.
  • Create another sketch form a rectangle from the guidelines 30%-40% means 1mm so give a constraint of less 1mm inthe both sides.
  • pad the surface in reverse direction with front side is more used for trim purpose.
  • Use draft on the Second dog house to 1.5degree to match with Dog hosue .
  • use boolean operation remove the inner Dog house in Dog house .
  • Draft on the inner phases as 0.5degree on the phases take front face as neutral face and pulling direction is side core axis.
  • Give a fillet for insdie as 0.5 on the edges .
  • copy the Dog house define part object create a paste as special with the link it like a duplicate of Dog house.
  • Use union trim command to remove the unwanted materail at bottom with the part body.
