Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1

AIM :

to create an out featured rib on the centre console coin holder

PROCEDURE

• first, extract the surface of the coin holder body

• then create a positioned sketch on the surface of the extracted surface , define that sketch as the output feature

• extrude the line using extrude command

• now create a part body and then assign thickness to that extruded surface
• draft the thickened surface (rib) with an angle 0.5 deg
• after drafting measure the upper surface width is greater than 0.75
• now give the fillets to the edges having a value of 0.25mm
• now assemble the rib body with the coin holder
• similarly create another rib with a distance of 2:1 ratio
• APPLY NECESSARY FILLETS

Y/X=2 (AS REQUIRED )

Height of rib 12.5

distance between ribs ( x )

x=12.5/2

y= 6.25

RIB ROOT THICKNESS

• create an intersection using xy plane and the final body to determine the rib root thickness
• Create a tritangent circle by selection the extracted curves and line
• measure the distance height and thickness
