Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1
Week 09 Challenge 01 : Coin Holder with Rib Feature
- Rib feature has been created by following the standard design rules for the rib.
- The Standard Design Rules are,
- Height of the Rib 5 times of the Wall thickness
- Thickness of the Rib should be 0.4/0.5 times of the Wall thickness.
- Minimum Draft Angle should be 0.5deg.
- Thickness of the Rib at top should be greater than 0.75mm
- Radius of the Rib should be 0.25mm max.
- Rib Root thickness should be ±30% of the Wall Thickness.
- The followings are the result when we follow the design rule for the 2.5mm wall thick component(Coin Holder)
- Height = 5t = 5*2.5 = 12.5mm
- Thickness of the Rib = 0.4t = 0.4*2.5 = 1mm
- Draft angle = 0.5deg is applied
- After Draft, Thickness of the Rib at Top = 0.786mm
- Radius of the Rib = 0.25mm is applied
- Rib Root thickness = Measured value is 2.686mm. So it statisfied the rule.(If ±30% of the Wall Thickness means the Rib Root Thickness should lies between 1.75 to 3.25)
