Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1
Aim: To create Ribs for Coin Holder and perfrm draft analysis for class A and final part.
Procedure: Before creating Class B we have to perform draft analysis for the given class A.To make draft analysis we have to create a tooling axis by using Bisect method.
Steps to create tooling axis.
- First we have to select the toolong direction. By analysing the given surface we could observe that Z is the required toolong direction.
- After selecting tooling direction to createa point and insert axis system on the surface as shown below.

- After creating point and axis system we have to create a sketch wrt ZY plane and create an intersec between class c and ZX plane in a the sketcher as shown below.

Interserction of ZY and Class A
- Now we have to draw two line paralle to the below shown surfaces.

- After creating the paralle lines we have to create a line which bisects the two lines. The created bisect line is the Y cleareane axis.

- As we got Y clearance now we have to create X clearance.
- To create X clearance draw a sketcher wrt ZX plane and create intersection between ZX plane and class A as shown below.

Interserction of ZX and Class A
- Now we have to draw two line paralle to the below shown surfaces.

- After creating the paralle lines we have to create a line which bisects the two lines. The created bisect line is the X cleareane axis.

- Once we got both X and Y clearances we can create tooling axis by bisecting the both lines as shown below.

- After creating tooling axis now we can perform draft analysis by selecting the Feature draft analysis.

To Create rib we should follow the below considerations.
- The rib thickness should be 0.4*t (t= thickness of the product)
- The draft angle of rib should be max of 0.5 for each side
- Lengh of rib = 5*t (t= thickness of the product)
- Optimimum rib fillet radius = 0.25mm
- Minimum thickness at rib top = 0.75
- The two ribs should be places in the height:width ratio of 3:1
