#8 Week Assignment- Introduction to Ansys Workbench

Aim: To perform transient structural analysis on worm gear assembly in Ansys Workbench.

Objectives:

1. Simulation setup
2. Assign contacts and joints
3. Analysis settings, steps to run simulation.
4. Conclusion on the simulation performed.

• Import the geometry ino transient analysis.

• Generate the mesh as default, if required refine the mesh based on the elements in the statistics.

• Rename the contacts based on definition and select the faces for atleast quarter gear so that the simulation goes perfectly without any covergence error.

• Create the joints for revolute and select the inner surface of gear as shown below.

• In the analysis settings set the no.of steps to 15 to run, and the other settings as shown for the simulation to run perefectly.

• Insert the parameters that are to be observed and click on solve.

Conclusion:

In the above simulation of worm gear assembly we can observe the stress strain and deformation rate for the applied parameters.
