Week 8 - Challenge 6 - Core & Cavity Design

the draft analysis fot the final product was done ont he closed surface. the tooling axis was selected as the draft analysis axis and then locked into position. After this tghe closed surface was selected as the element to conduct the analysis. The portion highlighted in green shows that the closed surface along the tooling axis is ready for manufacturing and it has the minimum draft of 3 degrees.

The ldraft analysis for the class a surface was done the same way. The tooling axis was taken as the drafting axis and then locked into position and then drfat analysis was conducted. The portion highlighted in green shows that the surface A has tghe minimum draft of 3 dgreees and is ready for manufacturing.

For the creation of the tooling axis an point was placed in the base at the centre of the surface using the surface option on the point function. Afterm this a axis system was placce in the point created and this served as the centre for the tooling axis.

For the first axis an intersection of the surface a was done along the zy axis from this intersection two line was taken using the side walls of the switch bezel as reference. then an intersection was created along the point using the two lines created and an axis was formed .

for the second dummy tooling axis an intersection was taken along the zx plane. from the profile created a line was created taking the side walls as reference. This was then adjusted to 6 dgrees as the final tooling aixs must have a minimum draft of three degrees in the component. Thus the second dummy tooling axis was created.

After the creation of the two dummy tooling axis the bisecting commmand was used to produce a tooling axis with two dummy tooling axis as reference along the initial point. Thus the tooling axis was created.
