Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design

The draft analysis was done on the closed surface of the final product. First the axis for the draft analysis was set along the tooling axis and then locked to position. Then the part was selected and the draft analysis was done. The portion in green represents that the draft angle was more than 2.9 degrees the minmum value required for tooling.

The Draft analysis for the class A was done selecting the tooling axis as the Drafting tool axis and then locjed into place. After that the class A surface was selected and the draft analysis was done. The green portion represents that the surfaces are more than 3 degrees with the tooling axis and can be sent for tooling or machining.

For the creation of the tooling axis the base of the given class A surface was extracted and a point was created on the base. After the point was created an axis system was put on the point that was created and this point served as the centre of the tooling axis.

For the first axis an intersection was created on the class A surface along the zy plane and an outline of the profile along the intersected plane was created. After the sketch was created the two planes inclined to the z axis two lines were created and using the two lines the a summy tooling axis for this plane was created using  the bisecting method. The two lines were selected and the two lines selected as line 1 and line 2 the base point was selected point and the dummy tooling axis was created for the zy plane.

For the second dummy tooling axis an intersection sketch plane was created along the zx plane and the and the line which was inclined to the z axis was slected as a line and a another line was drwan as the dummt tooling axis. After the creation of the dummy tooling axis it was constrained to the previous line created as 6 degrees and was created.

After the two dummy tooling axis was created the two lines were selected as line 1 and line 2 and base point was selected as the point and thus the dummy tooling axis was created
