Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design

For the draft analysis of the class A surface the axis on which the draft analysis has to be carried out has is been chossen as the tooling axis and the draft analysis was done. The portion highlighted in green show that the minimum draft required for tooling which is 3 dgrees is sufficient. Hence draft analysis was conducted.
For the creation fo the tooling axis the class A surface was taken and the base was exracted and a point was placed on the extracted surface. after the point was created an axis system was placed on the point that was created and the class A surface was intersected along the zy plane to have a cross sectional sketch of the component. But however since the walls of the coin holder are close to zero and core cavity are used to manufacture this component we can simply draw a line from the point created for the tooling axis. Hence tooling axis is created.

For the draft analysis of the closed component the draft axis was selcted along the tooling axis and locked into place and the component to be drafted was selected to be the closed component and the draft analysis was conducted. The areas highlighted in green shows that the minimum required draft angle of 3 degrees is sufficied and the component is ready to be manufactured. Hence the Draft analysis for the closed component was done.
