Week 8 - Challenge 5 - Core & Cavity Design
In previous challenges we created a component that is switch bezel and performed a draft analysis on the component in this challenge we created a Core & Cavity for the swith bezel.
CORE & CAVITY
Core & Cavity are two parts of the die in which Core is a moving part and Cavity is Constant part of a die which together creates cavity in which the molten material is allowed to flow and to form a component.

Parting Surface
The Parting surface is a surface which seperated mold into two parts i.e., core and cavity.
To create a parting surface we extrapolate class A surface and the trim it with Class C surface then we trim remaining with class B surface to achieve parting surface.

Core Design
To design core at first we sketch rectangle and then extrude it both the side then we trim opposite side of the extrude with parting surface to achieve core block.

Cavity Design
It follows the same process as core design but in this we trim the core side with the parting surface.
