Week 8 - Challenge 5 - Core & Cavity Design

1) Objectives

*) To Create Core & Cavity Blocks for Swithch Bezel Plastic Component

2) Requirements

*) Switch bezel plastic component

*) Tooling Axis

3) Draft Analysis for switch bezel

*) The created switch bezel meeting the requirements of draft angle along tooling axis

*) The below image shows the draft analysis of sitch bezel

4) Creation of core & cavity blocks

*) Create the parting line first.

*) Parting line is the line of separation on the plastic part where the two halves of the plastic injection mold meet.

*) Selection of the parting line is very important while designing mold, which avoids flash problems.

*) Create the core and cavity blocks along tooling axis.

*) The depression part in component is produced by Core side of the mold as shown.
