Door Arm Rest Week 8 Challenge
1) Objectives
*) To create a door arm rest using given Class A surface & thickening it.
2) Requirements
i) Tooling Axis
*) This component cannot be cleared in one tooling axis as it has ribs on its body which are parallel to main tooling axis.
*) Hence it also requires a side core tooling axis.
ii) Class A Surface
iii) Thichness as given 2.5mm.
3) Procedure
A) Creation of Tooling axis
*) Tooling Axis are created using compass direction method.
*) First create a dummy axeses, do draft analysis of Class A surface along those axeses.
*) If Draft analysis is Ok lock that compass along dummy tooling axeses & create main tooling axis along compass direction.
B) Creation of Class B surface
*) Create a class B surface by offsetting Class A surface and using various commands.
*) The following is the image of Class B surface
C) Creation of Class C Surface
*) Create a Class C Surface by extracting the boundary of Class A Surface and using sweep and different commands.
*) i,e Swept along draft axis (Tooling axis) and give draft angle to the surface, swept with reference surface, etc.
*) Following is the image of Class C Surface.
D) Draft Analysis
*) Since he entire component cannot be cleared with one tooling axis and it reqiures side core also the draft analysis is done along both the axeses.
*) Check whether the draft analysis for the surfaces is Ok along respective tooling axeses
*) The following are the images of the draft analysis of door arm rest along main & side core tooling axeses.
*) Finally create a solid body using closed surface.
4) Conclusion
*) The created plastic component meeting draft analysis and can be cleared with two tooling axeses.
*) Below are the images of final plastic component in diffrent view modes.
