CORE CAVITY DESIGN FOR SWITCH BEZEL:

CLASS A SURFACE

CLASS B SURFACE

CLASS C SURFACE

TOOLING AXIS:

Tooling Axis is the tool travel direction. here the core gets along the axis of the tool travel. Hence creating a tooling axis is most important and first process for making a plastic part.

To Create a Tooling Axis, We have to first verify which direction is best suitable for the tool to produce the part in an efficient way. This can be usually done by just assuming the direction by examining the given surface.

DRAFT ANALYSIS:

Draft Analysis is a process to check the eligibility of the designed product to be manufactured without getting damaged. To get successful draft analysis, the part should have a draft of minimum 0.5 to 3 Degree. This draft should be in reference with the tooling direction of the core and cavity during molding process.

CLASS A SURFACE:

PART:

PARTING SURFACE:

Parting surface is the surface between the core and cavity where the part will be created inside of it. This parting surface should be in such a way that it should not provide gaps for the material to ooze out and poduce flash and extrusion irregularity.

PARTING LINE:

Parting line is the line between core and cavity and the part. In simple way, it is the intersection line betwwen the class B and clas C surface produced.

CORE and CAVITY:

Core is a moving object travels with the tooling axis s=direction to close with the cavity thus creating the desired part required. Its a moving part RED part is the core as shown below

Cavity is a fixed part, this is wher the core closes ith high pressure with the cavity to shape the part inside of it. BLUE part is the cavity as shown below.

There will be created a small hole in core and cavity to ventilate the air present inside the gap bwetween the core and cavity and to remove the component from cavity using pins respectively.
