Week 8 - Challenge 5 - Core & Cavity Design

Draft- For easy removal of the finished product draft is given.

Draft Analysis- To checking the drafted design is manufacturable or not is checked by the draft analysis tool.

Creation of Tooling Axis-

1) Create a point on the centre of the extracted bottom face. Then add the Axis system to that point. Then use intersect for Class A And the YZ plane of the axis. Next use positioned sketch in yz plane.

2) By using the positioned sketch, draw a tooling axis in the Y direction in which create two lines on the inclined surface and bisect them.

3) Now create the tooling axis in X direction by intersecting ZX with class A surface. Then bisect the line on inclined surface.

4) Bisect these two lines and increase the length of bisecting line and name it as Tooling Axis. And then Publish the Tooling Axis and given Class A surface for ease.

Draft Analysis of Part-

Insert in Draft analysis feature and drag the compass on tooling axis and select the componant for analysis.

Creation of Core-

1) For trimming Class A extrapolate it-

2) Trim the surface of Class C with Class B surface.

Trim the Both surfaces.

Now create Sketch on XY plane and draw a rectangle just little outside from Class A Componant.

Now extrude that rectangle in Z direction as per requirement.

Now trim this surface with a surface which is created.

Now extract the Boundry of the open face of the rectangle and then fill it. After that join that fill with a rectangle.

Creation Of Cavity-

Trim Class B surface with previously created rectangle

Now do the same procedure as the previous one. Extract the boundary of the open face of rectangle and fill it & then Join with rectangle.

Now make them Solid bodies to both core and cavity by going to part workbench.

Creation Parting Line-

For creating parting line,intersect the Class B surface with the Join of Class A and sweep.

Creation Of Parting Surface-

For creating parting surface here we are tking help og parting line. For that split the Class B surface with Parting line.
