Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design

The tooling axis is a line in which the core and a cavity is open. The tooling axix can be created on the basis of line in which material can be easily release from the mold cavity of the component.

For to create a tooling axis of the coin holder we need to considered the flat component of the surface of a object and extract the face from it.

To create a centre line on a flat surface go to "point definition" option and select on surface option and plane of the component as extract option from it and click OK.

After creating the centre point on a surface just create a tooling axis and place it over a centre point and create two lines on two surfaces.

To create a wall of the component go to intersection point definition and create the walls of the component.

The axis system can be placed on the point which we have created on the plane and place it over the tooling component.

After creating the axis system of the component are at 0 degree we need to craete the normal line on a surface with the line definition.

Extend the line upto some extent with a straight line which is more preferable to the tooling direction of the coin holder.

After creation of the normal line in the middle of the component we have to considered the patches in different color and make a class B surface and then select the four side walls faces to create a class B surface.

Untrim operation is used to carried out to get a good surface on the patches.

After untrimming operation we have to perform the extrapolate option to intersect the components with each other so that it can be intersect with other and make a trimming operation to extrapolate the components.

After trimming the extrapolate component publish class A surface so to work on it easily and later offset the component at a distance of 2.5mm

All the components are are joined in a new geometrical set and name it as a side walls.

Now select the base component to work on it and set a new geometrical set in a B surfaces.

Do all the opertaions like what we have conducted during the creation of class B surfaces like as extract, untrim, extrapolate, join, trim and offset opertaion to get a proper concentric surafaces of the coin holding component.

After creation of class A surface and class B surfaces we have to create a class C surface to join the class A and class B surface to get closed body of the component in close surface.after joining all the components we are able to get solid model of the component which is more preferable to overcomes the coin holder constructions.

Draft analysis of the component can be carried out for class A surface which indicates that the created model can be valid for manufacturing process.
