Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design

COIN HOLDER

1. TREE STRUCTURE AND THE GEOMETRICAL SETS

2.THE VARIOUS OREINTATION VIEW OF THE COIN HOLDER

  • FRONT VIEW

  • SIDE VIEW

  • TOP VIEW

  • ISOMETRIC VIEW

3.Tooling Axis

Extract the base surface from the coin holder and create a point on the surface,Point Type is (On Surface) command in the point command

There is no need to create an bisecting line for the coin holder because it has four corners,

Side Core Tooling Axis

4.DRAFT ANALYSIS FOR THE COIN HOLDER

The minimum draft angle is 2.9 degree

Here value of the draft angle in the Blue surface is 1.8 degree

0 degree Draft at the RED zone

5.CLASS B SURFACE AND THE CLASS C SURFACE

Class B Surface

  • Side Wall

Side wall offset at 2.5mm

Ensure that any cap would not in the surface to create an Close body.

Detailed Report For the Coin Holder

Tooling Axis

FIrst things is we calculate the Main Tooling Direction for the Coin Holder because tooling is main task for the production area

if the tooling direction is not in a proper direction or proper degree it collapse the entire product.

In first tooling axis would be in the Y direction it is Main Tooling Axis

In Second one is the Side core Tooling Axis.

B surface And C Surface Creation

In the Coin Holder first we Start with the Side wall from the Class A Surface.

Extract the Side Wall then Extrapolate the four wall and trim them both and Offest the surface at 2.5mm for the thickness.

Now We have to Create the Base From the Class A Surface, Extract the base and trim with side wall

After that Create the Top wall from the Class A ,extract the wall and extrapolate and tirm with first trim wall and base.

C Surface Creation

Then create the outer flange surface to close the coin holder total body.tirm the flange with B Surface. and finally trim flange with the Class A surface to close the boundary.

Their will have one cutout, select the outer boundary and extract it and extrude after trim with the Final Surface.

Draft Analysis

The draft For the Coin Holder is made for the reason, when the production area the part of coin holder will clear the all the edges

and the all corner would mould proprely.

Insert - Analysis - Feature Draft Analysis

Pull the axis to the tooling Axis that we created and click the surface see that draft for the coin holder Check with the Main Tooling Axis

and the Side Core.
