Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design
The Coin Holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface.
- Tree Structure

- Screenshots of the Draft analysis report for both the given Class-A surface and the final plastic component
- Screenshots of the solid model with the proper color code of the draft angle in various orientations (Isometric, Front, Side, and Top View)

The final output of the coin holder plastic component

- Report
- A detailed report should be done explaining the draft analysis and the tooling axis creation.
- An explanation should be given on the way of creating the tooling axis particularly the Bisecting method
The coin holder draft angle is 3 Deg but the final component is not cleared due to the CLASS A SURFACE which is shown to have few faces that cannot be cleared so in that case we have to report to the Class A Surface engineer to correct the error because a Plastic product designer will not be able to edit the Class A surface without premission. The sharp edges should be avoided in most cases because it complicates the manufacturing process and needs to be handled with care during shipment and installaton. The coin holder final model has a sharp edge on the top because of Class A surface which needs to be rectified or informed by the plastic product designer to the Class A surface engineer. Two Tooling axis has to be created for the above model, one for the coin holder component and the other for clearing the hole present in the plastic component.
Images of Class A surface faces that are not cleared during draft analysis are shown below

Draft analysis on the closesurface of the Coin holder plastic component
- Faces that are not cleared shown in blue i.e due to the Class A surface.

Tooling axis is chosen to be on the Z axis for the coin holder plastic component and X axis for the Hole present in the component.Bisecting command for creating a line on the above component cannot be used as the faces are perpendicular to each other (90 deg) so no draft angle or points connecting the surfaces hence only a perpendicular line is used to create the tooling axis.A component cannot be cleared easily if its perpendicular so Class A Surface engineer should be informed to add draft angle for the above coin holder component.

NOTE:The CATpart of the above coin holder is submitted as an attachment below in a ZIP file format.
THANKYOU.
