Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Bumper
AIM:
To create the Bumper Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
INTRODUCTION:
Bumper is a structure attached with front and rear end of vehicle, to absorb impact of minor collision incase of accident.plastic is the most preffered material in modern cars, as its lighter in weight and more aerodynamic than metals, also considering the pedestrian safety, but in medium collision the bumper couldnot withstand and protect the impact of collision. poly carbonate and ABS are the mostly preffered material for plastic.
Objective:
To create the bumper from the given class a surface.
to create a tooling axis with class A surface considering manufacturability.
To create class B surface from the class A.
To create Class C surface and solid body is formed.
Class A surface :
The class A surface has been provided and the tooling axis has been created considering the manufacturability of parts.
TOOLING AXIS:
Class B surface :
The class B surface has been created from the provided class A surface by offset method and the thickness is considered as 3mm as spec.The edges of the same has been extrapolated as it should be trimmed with C surface.
Class C Surface:
The class C surface has been swept with the boundaries of class A surface, as its the base. and all the swepts has been joined together.
Class A+C surface:
The class A and C surface has been joined together, So its trimmed off with the extrapolated Class B surface.
Final trim: The class A&C surface is being trimmed off with class B surface, and checked for boundary,to check for any discontinuity then again the draft analysis is performed and evaluated and found okay then the part body is created using close surface.

Conclusion:
The bumper has been created with the given class A surface with the specs provided and found okay.
