Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Bumper

BUMPER

TREE STRUCTURE

STEPS TO CREATE THE CLOSED BODY

CLASS A : It is the given input suraface .

TOOLING DIRECTION : It is the direction along which core and cavity moves. here along x direction , we can able to see the component , so we will make the tooling direction along x direction.

draft analysis :

we will check with 3 degree draft in class A Surface, if 3 degree draft clears out part then good to go.

here we can see that, surafce is above 3 degree draft provided.

CLASS B surafce : It is the surafce , which is offset to 2.5 mm from class a surafce, it is done to add material inside it.

here to make class b surafce, we will directly offset to 2.5 mm below from class A , and after offset we get some open surafce at the fillet side, because some fillet will not offset directly due to its curavture,

offset 2.5 mm from class A . THIS is offset surface and we are able to see some fillet are not occur properly.

steps to repair offset surafce.

1. remove that fillet using join command as SUB ELEMENT TO REMOVE WITH PARAMETER NON CONNEXITY UNCHECK .

2. MULTIEXTRACT THE TWO SURFACE

3. EXTRAPOLATE THOSE TWO SURAFCE

4. TRIM THEM TO GET DESIRED OUTPUT

5. APPLY FILLET MANUALLY , AFTER CHECKING THE FILLET RADIUS FROM CLASS A

AFTER REPAING B SURFACE

CLASS C SURAFCE : It is used to join tha class a and class b surafce. it is done on class A surafce .

steps to create class c suraface.

1. surface is which is perpendicular to tooling axis , that area no need to provide draft. we will go with referenence surafce with 90 degree

2. suraface which is parallet to tooling axis , neeed to given draft with 3 degree in outward direction

AFTER JOIN A AND CLASS C , THEN TRIM WITH B SURAFCE TO GET THE DESURED OUTPUT.

NOW, CLOSED BODY , BY INSERTING IT TO NEW BODY , IN PART WORKNENCH AND CLOSED THE BODT BY CLOSE SURFACE METHOD

AFTER GETTING CLOSED BODY, WE WILL GO FOR DRAFT ANALYSIS WITH 3 DEGREE DRAFT

AT THE front side in c surface we are getting 0 degree, so we are not able to provide draft with 3 degree.

conclusion :

i have made the bumper as per your dimension and draft provided with 3 degree draft.
