Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design

Following steps are followed to create the coin holder component and draft analysis have been made on the model.

DRAFTING ANALYSIS:

  • tooling axis have been created using bisecting method for class A surface.
  • The compass has been aligned with tooling axis and drating angle has been checked.

CLASS B SURFACE:

  • The surface are extracted from the A class surface.
  • After extraction, the surface is extrapolatee and trimmed together
  • Trimmed surface have been offset for the thickness of 2.5mm.

CLASS C SURFACE:

  • Sweep command is used to create the surface which joins the Class A and Class B sirface together.
  • For sweep usage, boundary command is used to create the boundary, and reference surface has been created from class A surface ising extract command.
  • Method used for sweep is refernce surface method.
  • Draft angle vaiue is given as 90.
  • Finally join command is used to join the surfaces together to form final component.

PART BODY:

  • using the command close surface, the surface is transformed into solid.

DRAFT ANALYSIS:

  • Again, the draft analysis command is used to analyse the draft for the final component.
