Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design
AIM:
To Create the Coin Holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
Surface creation:
There is three types of surface creation will perform this module
- CLASS-A Surface
- CLASS-B Surface
- CLASS-C Surface
CLASS-A Surface:
Class-A surface is a visible surface. It gives the aesthetic of the component which is created by the styling team and gives to the part design engineer to create the part with all engineering aspects.

TOOLING DIRECTION:
The tooling direction would be at the z-axis because this direction is very easy to manufacture the product and compare to all other faces and the entire surfaces are to be covered in that direction without adding any other faces.
In this product point which creates a axis at the midpoint and then create point and direction line based on the axis. And this will be the tooling axis for this model.

CLASS B SURFACE CREATION:
B surface which will be similar to the A surface at an offset value of 2.5 mm.The B surface creation is performed using the surface operations in CATIA which is an offset from class A with dimension proportional to the thickness of the part.In coin holder the B surface is offset 2.5mm from the Class A input which is the thickness of the part. The B surface is an extrapolated surface compared to A surface and forms the bottom skin of the part.

CLASS C SURFACE CREATION:
Class C surface is connection part of the the Class A and Class B surface, To create the class C surface, we need to create the entire boundary of the component by using the boundary command. And also creating the best way for the tooling direction to manufacturing easily in an effective way.By using the sweep command we can combine them and trim the surfaces so we can get the completed closed surface body and draft angle given as 3 degrees. Before trimming the most importing things to join them all.

THE FINAL TRIMMED SURFACE:

PART BODY:
After the body has to be closed by using the closed surface in part modeling.

VARIOUS VIEWS OF THE FINAL PART:

DRAFT ANALYSIS:
The Draft Analysis command enables you to detect if the part you drafted will be easily removed. This type of analysis is performed based on colour ranges identifying zones on the analysed element where the deviation from the draft direction at any point, corresponds to specified values.

CONCLUSION: Finally the Coin holder Plastic component has been created through the given Class-A surface, with the 2.5 MM thickness and tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end performing the Draft analysis on the model
