Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design

AIM: Create the Coin Holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.

FIRST STEP

CREATING A TOOLING AXIS:

first we need to create a tooling axis and we need to make the intersection of the Class A

By creating the tooling axis we find the intersection of the component easily

CREATING FROM CLASS A TO CLASS C

PROCEDURE:

CLASS A:

  • First we need to take the given cart part or step file
  • From the file we got the CLASS A
  • From the class A first we need to create the Boundary to check how many components we have and we can start
  • Now we need to create a Tooling Axis through the help of Axis
  • The above fig shows the tooling axis and intersection

This is the step 1 in the process

CLASS B

Now we need to perform the Class B

  • In the class we need to extract the parts fro the class A
  • First we wannt to take the each component and extract that and untrim the component and finally we want to extrapolate the part.
  • This is the process how we can extract the parts or component from the class A

  • The above fig shows the how we can ectract each part
  • Now we need to trim the each component to create a class B
  • Now we need to give the edge fillet to the part

  • Finally we created an CLASS B

CLASS C

PROCEDURE FOR CLASS C

  • Create sweep surfaces from the boundary of class A with required draft with tooling direction.

This is the sweep surface of the class C
