Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design
AIM- Create the Coin Holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
CREATION OF TOOLING AXIS
- Extract the base surface.
- Centre point is drawn.
- Axis system was inserted as reference on the centre point.

INTERSECTION OF CLASS A SURFACE
- To create the intersection line of Class A surface, First element class A surface is taken & the second element YZ plane is taken from the axis on the centre point.

- To vissualize the surface clearly different colors are given. So that easily the surface can be selected and can be extracted.

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF CLASS A SURFACE

- In the Class A surface the draft angle is negligible which should be provided for the mould injection process, and As we are not authorized to change the draft angle of class A surface tooling axis is taken normal to the base surface.
CREATION OF B SURFACE
- Extract the inner wall surfaces.

- Side Walls, base and outer flange are extracted from class A then extrapolated and trimmed here. And the final trimmed surface is taken offset of 2.5mm.

- Final Trim of class B surface

- Intersection of class A & class B is taken to check distance and the position of each surface.

CLASS C SURFACE
- Class A surface boundry creation is done first.

- From the boundry of class A surface Class C surface is created by SWEEP command perpendicular to the Boundary as reference.

- Final Trim of Class A,B,C.

- Trim the bottom angular space and finally Fillets are added.

Final Draft Analysis of the part
Hence, Class A surface the draft angle is negligible which should be provided for the mould injection process, and As we are not authorized to change the draft angle of class A surface tooling axis is taken normal to the base surface.
