Week 8-Challenge
Model 1
Objective:
To Mesh the given component 3 dimensionally.
Target size = 5 mm
Minimum element size= 2 mm
Maximum element size = 7mm
Tet collapse= 0.150
Tools used:
Quick edit( toggle edges, Split surf node, Replace points)
Automesh command(using only tria elements)
Check elements
3d tetra remesh(with remeshable properties)
Mask
Procedure followed:
- Import the STP file.
- The first and the foremost thing to do is delete solids, so that we can easily mesh the surface and proceed.
- Perform geometry cleanup, and then mesh the surface using 2D automesh.
- As we can see that there is a need for elemental cleanup after 2D meshing so perform elemental cleanup.
- Post quality criteria now its time for tetramesh.
- Now after quick tetramesh there are some failed elements, which needs elemental cleanup, so tetra remesh command is used to remesh the 3d tetramesh.
Conclusion:
The final tetramesh component is obtained with
target element size=5mm
Min element size=2mm
Max element size=7mm
Model 2
Objective:
To 3D mesh the given model satisfying the criteria
Target size = 6mm
Tools Used:
Quick edit(toggle edges,Replace points,etc)
Mask
Quick tetramesh
3d Tetra remesh
Procedure followed:
- Import the HM file
- Perform Geometry cleanup so that the meshed component doesnot have glitches.
- Post geometry cleanup perform quick tetramesh, and then review for minimum elemental failure.
Conclusion:
The 3D meshed component is obtained using the above procedure.
Model 3:
Objective:-
To mesh the given model.
Target size = 6mm
Tools used:-
- Organize
- 3d tetramesh
- Check elements
- Tetra remesh
- Mask
- Quick edit
Procedure followed:
- Import the HM file
- Primarily we have to do geometry cleanup using various quick edit command
- Post geometry cleanup, mesh the components individually using either 3D tetramesh command or using Quick tetramesh, depending upon the component requirements.
Conslusion:
The final Meshed component has been obtained following the above steps.
