Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design

Q. Create the Switch Bezel Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model. Take the Thickness of the component to be 3mm.

Given CLASS_A SURFACE

From the input surfaces, class A surface was taken and modified. And at last it was verified using the join and boundary commend there was some open surfaces available, so merging distance increased from 0.001 to 0.003mm.

TOOLING_AXIS

The tooling axis was created by using the side wall as reference using the bisecting line method.

CLASS-A-and-CLASS-C JOIN

By using the join operations both the surfaces Class A and C were joined. And found some open surfaces so the marging distance was increased from 0.001mm to 0.003mm. Finally trim operations were used to remove the unwanted surfaces and as aresult closed surface was obtained. And finally surface was closed using the closed surface commend.

DRAFT_ANALAYSIS

Draft analysis is done through the draft analysis operations to check the drafted surfaces are producible in the plastic injection molding. draft angles are identified with different colors like green and red and blue.
