Week 8 - Challenge 1 - Draft Analysis on a Fan Cover
Draft analysis of a fan cover
Objective:
To perform draft analysis on the Class A surface of a fan cover
Class - A surface:

Draft analysis steps:
Creating tooling axis:
1. The first step is to Perform join operation and make the given surface in one surface:

2. Make sure there are no open boundries in the surface
3. Create a dummy tooling axis:

X-direction tooling axis:
1. Create a plane in the center of the hole, and use intersect to to create an profile which intersects the surface and the plane:

2. Create two lines using point-point option, on the two inclined edges:

3. In the line option select bisecting, and select the necessary lines and the mid point. Select the verticle line as highlighted in orange:
Final X - Tooling axis:

Y-Axis tooling axis:
Perform the same steps as the x tooling, in Y direction:

Making actual tooling axis:
1. Choose the line and select bisecting option and then select X and Y axis create, choose the verticle line:
Draft Analysis:
Go to insert --> analysis --> Feature Draft analysis:

Select the compass in draft analysis under the direction section, and move it to the part:

3. Place the compass on the tooling axis:

selct the part:

The draftr analysis will be shown. The minimum draft is taken as 3mm.

Conclusion:
The draft analysis was performed on the given fan cover and the part was found to have positive draft.
