Week 8 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design
CHALLENGE 21 – BASE BRACKET DESIGN & DRAFT ANALYSIS
Aim: Given Class A input surface, complete the thickened Base Bracket part and perform draft analysis on the completed part.
CLASS A SURFACE
We were provided the Class A Surface as below.

Fig 1 – Original Class A Surface before Translation
We first translated the Class A surface to the Global Origin. We then created a dummy tooling direction along the Z Component and through the center of the large hole. Next, we took an Intersection through the center of the large hole.

Fig 2 – Translated Class A Surface, with Intersection line and Dummy Tooling Direction
We used the Intersection to obtain the edges to derive lines to bisect to produce the final Tooling Axis.

Fig 3 -- Tooling Axis Creation
After creating the Tooling Axis, we created the Class B and Class C surfaces and trimmed them with the Class A surface. Finally, we used Close Surface to produce a final, thickened, solid part.

Draft Analysis

Fig 6 -- DRAFT ANALYSIS
The Draft Analysis validated the design for manufacturability from the Draft perspective.
Conclusion: We were able to successfully model the part and successfully verified it with Draft Analysis.
